Cynthia A. Farner, MD Dr. Farner has been practising in the Bay Area for 19 years after previously working on the East Coast. She blends her interest in alternative and complementary medicine with her expertise in obstetrics and gynecology in order to optimize care for her patients. Cindy chairs the Perinatal Quality Committee at CPMC and is very involved in the physician leadership of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She has been named one of the Bay Area's top 500 Physicians and is in the Best Doctor's data base. Her outside interests include Art & the Arts as well as travel. Kim, MD Dr. Kim enjoys the full range of general obstetrics and gynecology, but has a special interest in issues unique to teens and young women. Her particular areas of expertise include management of abnormal Pap smears and contraception. As one of the younger partners in the practice, she enjoys spending time with patients in the office and looks forward to building long-term partnerships with them as they transition through their various life cycles. She would be delighted to see referrals of existing patients’ family members and friends. When not at work, Dr. Kim loves spending time with her husband and two young children. Her hobbies include golf, snow skiing and traveling. She initially trained and performed as a professional violinist for 10 years, however, while living in New York City, she discovered a passion for medicine and began her training towards becoming a physician. Following medical school, she returned to the Bay Area to be closer to family and to complete her residency at Kaiser Permanente East Bay. She joined Ob Gyn Associates of SF and California Pacific Medical Center in 2009. Her interests include all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology, however, she particularly enjoys performing minimally invasive and standard gynecologic surgery as well as evaluating and researching genetic predispositions for breast and ovarian cancers. She also has an extensive research background and is currently involved in a grant supported, prospective study on weight gain in pregnancy. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing with her husband and two young children. John A.
